Melek Fetisleam

Melek Fetisleam is researcher at the Institute of Turkology at Babeş-Bolyai University in Cluj and has a long experience in studying the history of Tatar minority in Romania. She received her PhD at Babeş-Bolyai University in 2017 with a thesis based on the study of National Council for Securitate Archives. She is an editor for Studia et Documenta Turcologica and peer-reviwer for History Research, USA. One of her recent project is Change of Regime in the Policy area with regard to Minorities. The Chronology of National Minorities in Romania (1989-2019). She has participated at the First European Non-Territorial Autonomy Network Training School. In the framework of ”Non-Territorial Autonomy” project, she investigates the role of religious and educational autonomy in developing an ethnic-national identity of the Tatars in interwar Romania.
