Timo Albrecht

Timo Albrecht studied law in Göttingen (First State Examination 2019) and spent semesters abroad in Aarhus and Geneva. His main research interests lay in German and European legal history, with a focus on the 20th century, as well as public international law. Currently, he writes his dissertation at the University of Göttingen on National Socialist Ethnic Group Law (“Nationalsozialistisches Volksgruppenrecht“), addressing the völkisch “dark side“ of non-territorial autonomy and national minority rights, but also its precursors particularly in the Weimar Republic. Timo undertook research stays inter alia at the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory (Frankfurt am Main) as well as the University of Oxford and works as research assistant at the Chair for German Legal History in Göttingen. During September/October 2022, he joins the NTA working group in Vienna as a visiting scholar.
