Triin Trak
Triin Tark is a PhD student in history at the University of Tartu, Estonia, since 2014. Her PhD thesis deals with the legal, social, and cultural aspects of ethnic identity of people who resettled from Estonia to Germany in 1941. Her wider research interests include the problems of determination of ethnicity of individuals as well as expressions of ethnic identity in various contexts in Central-Eastern Europe, including in connection with migration. She is the author of numerous articles on these topics. In cooperation with the ‘Non-Territorial Autonomy’ team she investigates the problems of ethnic identity and especially ethnic boundaries and categorization in connection with non-territorial autonomy provisions. In doing so, she focuses on the historical events in interwar Estonia.
