Robert Devetak
Robert Devetak completed his PhD studies in 2019 at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), where he was also employed between 2014 and 2018 as a young researcher at the Department of History. In October 2021 he started working as an assistant with a doctorate at the Institute for Ethnic Studies, where he primarily focuses on researching the Slovene minority in Italy in the period from 19th century to modern times. Since 2019, he is also employed at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Nova Gorica (Slovenia), where he lectures at seminar courses for the subjects Introduction to the Study of History and History of Historiography. His main research topics are connected with social and economic history, women's history and nationalism at the turn from the 19th to the 20th century, with an emphasis on the border area, which is today divided between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Italy. In addition, he also researches topics related to refugees and the civilian population during the First World War.
