Melek Fetisleam - a new NTAutonomy research fellow

Melek Fetisleam will start her research fellowship within NTAutonomy on November 23rd 2020

Melek Fetisleam will start her research fellowship within NTAutonomy on November 23rd 2020. She is researcher at the Institute of Turkology at Babeş-Bolyai University in Cluj and has a long experience in studying the history of Tatar minority in Romania. She received her PhD at Babeş-Bolyai University in 2017 with a thesis based on the study of National Council for Securitate Archives. She is an editor for Studia et Documenta Turcologica and peer-reviwer for History Research, USA. One of her recent project is Change of Regime in the Policy area with regard to Minorities. The Chronology of National Minorities in Romania (1989-2019). She has participated at the First European Non-Territorial Autonomy Network Training School. In the framework of ”Non-Territorial Autonomy” project, she investigates the role of religious and educational autonomy in developing an ethnic-national identity of the Tatars in interwar Romania.
